• Powerful 890cc Three-Cylinder Engine

Yamaha's renowned 890cc liquid-cooled CP3 engine is light, powerful and provides a thrilling wave of torque from low RPMs. A combination of carefully tuned induction sound and distinctive crossplane triple exhaust note provides a resonance which only heightens the feeling of acceleration. Throttle valves are governed by the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system enabling finer actuation and precise control.

• Advanced Six-Axis IMU

The MT-09 features an advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that matches the base performance of proven IMU in the YZF-R1 Superbike. Data collected from the IMU and wheel speed sensors enable a high-tech suite of rider aids including a four-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and a two-mode Brake Control System. Each of these systems can be turned off and Traction Control, Slide Control and Lift Control can have their levels of intervention adjusted to preference.

• Lightweight CF Die-Cast Aluminum Frame

The MT-09 features an advanced, lightweight aluminum frame refined to showcase the MT's signature agility. To ensure both straight-line stability and handling performance, the balance of longitudinal, lateral and torsional rigidity are all carefully considered and finely tuned. The frame is manufactured using Yamaha's groundbreaking controlled fill (CF) die casting technology which contributes to its light weight.

• Five-Inch TFT Display with Smartphone Connectivity

Riders can link their smartphone to the rich, full-color TFT display via Yamaha's free Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music (through use of an aftermarket Bluetooth® headset, not provided). Additionally, full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Garmin® StreetCross app to make each journey easier.

• Aggressive Next-Generation Styling

Aggressive next-generation styling takes the Hyper Naked look to a new level with sharper, more defined lines and minimal bodywork. A bi-functional LED headlamp is shrouded in a cover, creating a compact and unified relationship with the fuel tank and tail section, while a more forward-leaning stance maintains the edgy street aesthetic synonymous with the MT name.
