According to Perry Bushong, the 1953 Benelli holds significance as it was the first production motorcycle featuring a parallelogram swingarm. The Leoncino model was in production from 1950 to 1960, with over 40,000 units manufactured, though it was not imported into the United States during that period. In the 1960s, Benelli began importing motorcycles into the US, rebranded under the Montgomery Ward's label and sold through their stores and catalog.
