David's Take 50 Years on Two Wheels I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for Triumph's Speed Triple. I actually owned a 2004 Speed Triple 955 back in the day. Long before naked sportbikes became fashionable, Triumph was building motorcycles that combined serious performance with an upright riding position and a personality all their own. The 2019 Speed Triple RS represents one of the finest versions of that original 1050cc formula. What I love about the Speed Triple is its engine. Triumph's 1050cc three-cylinder produces 148 horsepower, but the real magic is in the way it delivers that power. There's a muscular surge of torque through the middle of the rev range, followed by that wonderful triple-cylinder growl as the engine winds toward redline. It's a distinctive experience that neither a traditional twin nor an inline-four quite replicates. The RS takes an already excellent motorcycle and adds some genuinely impressive equipment. Fully adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear, Brembo monobloc brakes, a bidirectional quickshifter, and sophisticated rider electronics make this a serious performance roadster. I particularly appreciate the wide handlebars and natural riding position. You have excellent leverage over the motorcycle, and the chassis feels precise and communicative when the road gets interesting. For me, this is exactly the kind of motorcycle that belongs on a winding Colorado road. It's comfortable enough to enjoy getting out of Denver, but once you reach the curves through the foothills, the combination of torque, responsive steering, and excellent suspension really comes together. This particular 2019 Speed Triple RS, finished in striking Crystal White Metallic, has just 6,993 miles. The beautiful single-sided swingarm, twin high-mounted exhausts, distinctive headlights, and premium RS components give it a muscular appearance that still looks fantastic today. There's something else I appreciate about this generation of Speed Triple. It delivers tremendous performance without losing that mechanical, connected feeling that makes riding so rewarding. The electronics are there when you need them, but they don't overwhelm the experience. After nearly 50 years of riding, I still believe a great motorcycle should make you feel connected to the machine, not just impressed by its specifications. The Speed Triple RS does exactly that. If you're looking for a genuinely exciting naked sportbike with character, premium components, and a wonderful three-cylinder engine, I'd encourage you to come experience this Triumph. — David Goodman General Sales Manager Erico Motorsports Nearly 50 Years on Two Wheels 2019 Triumph Speed Triple RS Crystal White MetallicFeatures may include:NEW TFT COLOR INSTRUMENTSFull-color 5-inch TFT instrument display that presents both essential and additional rider information from the on-board computer, with six screen styles to choose from, all with high and low contrast settings, adjustable for optimum visibility.NEW ILLUMINATED SWITCH CUBES AND CRUISE CONTROLErgonomically-designed switch cubes with stylish backlighting for easy fingertip use under any lighting condition to access functions such as TFT instruments, riding modes, and the new cruise control, significantly improving long distance rideability.FIVE RIDING MODESEasily accessed through the left hand switch cube, choose from five riding modes, Rain, Road, Sport, Rider-configurable and Track mode.
