This system works like a slipper clutch by allowing a small amount of clutch slip for smoother downshifts. It also works as an assist clutch, increasing plate pressure under acceleration, but always keeps the clutch lever pull light and precise.CHASSIS FEATURESDesigned around the new, compact parallel twin engine and constructed with rugged steel pipe, the GSX-8S’s backbone style frame was developed to provide excellent straight-line stability, to contribute to nimble handling, and to perform well in the city, on twisty roads, and at highway speeds.The engine is suspended and precisely fit to the frame to create a rigid chassis that also provides the compliance required for sport riding.
