Engine and Performance

This S 1000 RR features a liquid-cooled, 999cc, inline-four engine. It delivers a robust 205 horsepower at 13,000 RPM and 83 lb-ft of torque at 11,000 RPM. The engine's maximum speed reaches 14,600 RPM, with a compression ratio of 13.3:1. The S 1000 RR features BMW Shift Cam technology for variable intake cam control, enhancing its performance across the entire rev range.

The bike is equipped with a 6-speed, constant-mesh gearbox. The primary drive is through a chain, with a final drive ratio of 2.65.

Chassis and Suspension

The frame is an aluminum composite bridge frame, with the engine being self-supporting. Front suspension includes an upside-down telescopic fork with a 45 mm slide tube diameter, adjustable for spring preload, rebound, and compression. The rear suspension features an aluminum underslung double-sided swing arm with central spring and shock absorber, also adjustable for preload, rebound, and compression. The seat height is 32.8 inches, and it has a curb weight of 434.3 lbs., which can be reduced to 426.6 lbs. with the M Package.

The Race Package optimizes the bike for racing and performance enthusiasts offering a sportier appearance and significant weight reduction. This package is designed to enhance the bike's performance on the racetrack and road and features the following components: 

M Endurance Chain: BMW Motorrad offers a maintenance-free drive chain for the first time. The use of X-rings permanently holds lubricant between the rollers and pins. This chain now gets an upgrade with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating material used on its rollers which is what makes the M Endurance Drive Chain maintenance-free.

Sports Silencer: Made from titanium with a carbon end cap produces a robust sound and makes for a sporty look. The sports silencer, developed with Akrapovic, is weight-optimized compared to the standard muffler.

Dynamic Package

The Dynamic Package enhances the bike's performance and comfort. It includes the DDC electronic chassis for optimal damping, Pro Riding Modes with additional Race Pro riding modes, Launch Control, Pit Lane Limiter, Wheelie Control, and Brake Slide Assist, Slide Control. DDC (Dynamic Damping Control): Adjusts the damping of the chassis to the current riding situation and ensures more performance by means of the best possible road contact. The system reacts to riding maneuvers such as braking, accelerating, or cornering and perfectly adjusts the damping fully automatically within milliseconds.

Ride Modes Pro: Make the bike fully race-ready with three additional RACE Pro modes and many racing extras. In addition to the individually configurable modes, it includes three additional Core Ride Screens and extras such as Launch Control, Pit Lane Limiter, Hill Start Control Pro, Dynamic Brake Control and DTC Shift with Slide Control.

Heated Grips: No more cold hands: this is made possible by the electric heated grips with multi-stage control. They increase comfort and at the same time bring more safety, because with warm hands and more feeling in their fingers, the rider simply has better control of the motorcycle - on cold track days as well as when riding in the rain.

Cruise Control: Can be activated from 19 mph and keeps the riding speed constant. This makes it possible to enjoy longer motorway stretches in a relaxed style. The function is deactivated on braking, and the selected speed is automatically set after activating the resume button.

Style Passion Package

In the dark color scheme of the Passion style, the motorbike exudes expressive sporting character. The painted surfaces in Mineral Grey Metallic including tapes are complemented by cast wheels, engine spoiler and swinging arm in Black. TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor): Monitors the tire pressure and automatically transmits a warning in the event of an incorrectly inflated tire. This increases rider safety and tire tread life.
