The lightest Panigale of all time. The Ducati Panigale V2 marks a historic transition in the history of Borgo Panigale twin-cylinder sports bikes. For the first time it does not derive from the larger motorcycle that competes in Superbike and has been designed from scratch, which has resulted in the creation of the lightest ever Panigale. It weighs a good 37.8 lb less than the previous model, inheriting the characteristic sports attitude and track performance of that bike and adding a level of ease, comfort and riding pleasure. Design THE ESSENCE OF DUCATI SPORTS ATTITUDE: The Panigale V2 retains the design spirit of the V4, inheriting its sports attitude and reinterpreting it in a more compact, refined guise. The Panigale V2 cleaves the air with complex volumes, conveying the perfect balance of aggression and elegance, typical of Ducati supersports. A more horizontal dynamic and less front load highlights the compactness of the V2 engine. DESIGN INSPIRED BY THE PANIGALE V4: The Panigale V2 is the first supersport in Ducati history to be designed from scratch, rather than deriving directly from the bigger models. The design is inspired by the Panigale V4, but the lines and concepts have been reinterpreted around the mechanical base. SHAPES AND BALANCE: A horizontal dynamic and less front load highlights the bikes compactness. The clean and simple design is characterized by expansive, smooth, taut surfaces that convey complex volumes. The result is a sports bike that perfectly balances aggression and elegance, like every Ducati supersport. TANK DESIGNED TO ENSURE THE BEST ERGONOMICS: The tank on the Panigale V2 flaunts an ergonomic layout like that of the Panigale V4, optimizing rider support when braking and hanging off mid-turn. The surfaces in contact with the rider ensure better anchoring of the knees, less arm fatigue during braking, and reduced physical effort when out of the seat through the corners. SEAT DESIGNED FOR COMFORT AND CONTROL: With a seat positioned 33 inches from the ground, the riders feet can reach the ground easily and safely. The height of the semi-handlebars is designed to reduce load on the wrists, while the footpeg position minimizes knee fatigue, while ensuring excellent mobility during sports riding. The passenger seat is well distanced from the footpegs without sacrificing the riding position. THERMAL COMFORT DURING EVERYDAY RIDING: Behind the fairing, ducts direct fresh air coming from the front towards the riders legs. This solution works in synergy with the upper vents, designed to redirect hot air from the radiator, for a cooler riding environment both on the road and during the most intense sessions on track. AN ERGONOMIC REVOLUTION: Totally redesigned from scratch, the Panigale V2 offers a modern riding position, more comfortable and versatile compared to the previous model. The thermal comfort of the rider reaches heights, ensuring a better experience in every situation. SIDE VIEW: Clearly inspired by the Panigale V4, with clean, bold shapes. PROPORTIONS: The perfect balance of aggression and elegance. TANK: Designed to support the rider when braking and hanging off the bike mid-turn. SILENCERS: Positioned under the seat, they evoke that unmistakable Panigale style. TAIL SECTION: With full fairing, just like the MotoGP Desmosedici. Electronic Riding Aid Systems ABS CORNERING AND ABS SLIDE-BY-BRAKE: An anti-lock braking system is a safety system that prevents a vehicles wheels from locking during heavy braking. Essentially, the ABS regulates the braking pressure on the wheel, allowing it to continuously have traction on the riding surface. There are different ABS intervention levels, depending on the selected Riding Mode. Slide-By-Brake ABS is a feature of ABS that allows safe drifting on corner entry for better performance in sport riding. CRUISE CONTROL*: An electronic system first introduced by Ducati in 2014 on the Multistrada 1200 that automatically maintains the speed set by the rider without intervening on the throttle grip. DUCATI POWER LAUNCH (DPL): System that guarantees lightning-fast starts allowing the rider to concentrate only on managing the clutch release. DUCATI BRAKE LIGHT EVO (DBL): System that flashes taillight and 4 arrows to signal hard braking to following vehicles. DUCATI QUICK SHIFTER 2.0 (DQS 2.0): The DQS 2.0 allows the rider to shift up and down without using the clutch and evolves with respect to the previous system, doing away with the traditional lever with microswitch in favor of a direct mechanical lever. The electronic strategy is entrusted to the positioning sensor on the gear drum that identifies the gear engaged, offering the rider more direct feeling that is easier to repeat, less rubbery and with reduced travel. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL): These are the daytime running lights that are used to comply with the obligation to use dipped headlights during the day. DUCATI TRACTION CONTROL (DTC): System that detects rear wheel slippage and automatically cuts power to limit or zero it, depending on the settings chosen by the user. DUCATI WHEELIE CONTROL (DWC): System that controls the wheelie and allows you to achieve maximum acceleration performance with ease and safety. ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL (EBC): System that allows you to control the level of engine braking when the throttle is released and choose whether to have more or less braking. RIDE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM: Also known as electronic accelerator, it is a system that electronically manages the opening and closing of the throttle (s). Electronics FIRST-RATE ELECTRONICS: The electronics package on the Panigale V2 guarantees unmatched enjoyment, maximizing performance in total safety and offering complete control in every situation. It has the most comprehensive standard electronics package of any bike in its category. RIDING MODES AND POWER MODES: The Riding Modes allow the rider to choose between four different base setups (Race, Sport, Road and Wet), to adapt the bike to different riding conditions. Each Riding Mode offers pre-set levels of performance and control intervention that can be customized by the user, who can also select and modify three different engine responses (High, Medium and Low Power Mode, with power limited to 95 hp in Low Mode) as well as the level of ABS, Wheelie Control, Engine Control and Engine Brake intervention. When the dash is set to Track Info Mode, the user can modify the control levels even when riding, in real time. RACING CORNERING ABS: The ABS system on the Panigale V2 comes complete with cornering function, for ABS intervention even when the bike is tilted. Cornering ABS can be set according to three levels to meet the needs of all riders, whether on track or road, even in critical conditions of low grip. While level 3 is suitable for the road or for conditions of low grip, levels 2 and 1 are aimed more at sports riding on high grip surfaces or on track. Level 2 is recommended for amateur track use. The system manages both the front and rear braking systems and keeps the cornering function activated in the absence of lift control, for more sports-style braking. Level 1 is designed for expert track use, ensuring race-type intervention with the ABS system acting only on the front wheel. DUCATI WHEELIE CONTROL (DWC): Panigale V2 is equipped with the latest version of Ducati Wheelie Control. Using information from the six-axis IMU, this system controls wheelies and allows the rider to achieve maximum acceleration performance. DUCATI TRACTION CONTROL (DTC): The DTC interfaces with the 6-axis inertial platform to adapt intervention and slip to the bikes lean angle. The DTC can be set according to 8 different levels (6 for dry conditions and 2 for wet), allowing the rider to adapt the control strategy to their riding style and the grip conditions, for maximum performance.
