Aerodynamics

MAXIMUM COMFORT. MINIMUM AIR EXPOSURE.: Aerodynamic research conducted by Ducati Corse translates into an unparalleled travel experience. With precise aerodynamic control, the Multistrada V4 MY2025 reduces oncoming air exposure to a minimum and deviates hot air away from the rider. This does not only guarantee greater protection but minimizes fatigue, for maximum comfort even over long range.
AERODYNAMIC CONFIGURATION - SPLITTING THE WIND: Aerodynamic research has guided the definition of every internal and external surface detail to optimize rider and passenger protection, for an aerodynamic configuration that maximizes rider and passenger coverage and reduces bothersome turbulence.
BAFFLES AND BYPASSES - THERMAL COMFORT: The deflectors and design of the bypasses ensure hot air from the radiators is kept far from the rider, channeling cool air to guarantee the perfect temperature at all times. Thermal comfort is also supported by the extended deactivation of the engine’s rear cylinder bank. This specific function activates when the engine is at a minimum, turning off the rear bank closest to the seat to reduce heat emission.
CHASSIS AND ENGINE - REDUCED VIBRATION: The frame and engine are designed to offer the rider the greatest possible comfort. Climbing aboard the Multistrada V4 means being enveloped by a “bubble of silence”, inside which it is pleasant to ride with your visor open, even at high speed. BEAUTIFUL.: The new Multistrada V4 MY2025 retains the style elements for which all Multistrada models stand out: front-loaded mass, a very sleek rear section, and an ultra-compact front end, ‘crossover’ elements inspired by the style of Ducati Superbikes, from the 916 on. Its look combines elegance and robustness with a marked off-road attitude thanks to the 19” front wheel.
FRESH FACED: The front of the new Multistrada V4 MY2025 features sharp lines and a slimmer LED light, for a ‘fresh face’ and improved aerodynamic protection. This updated design does not only accentuate the sports aesthetic, but also boosts visibility and functionality.
EVERY DETAIL COUNTS: The headlight with DRL system, sharp profile, and new generation double-sided swingarm are just some of the design details that define the Multistrada V4’s robust look.

Electronic Riding Aid Systems

ABS CORNERING: An anti-lock braking system is a safety system that prevents a vehicle’s wheels from locking during heavy braking. Essentially, the ABS regulates the braking pressure on the wheel, allowing it to continuously have traction on the riding surface. There are different ABS intervention levels, depending on the selected Riding Mode.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC): Adaptive cruise control, also known by the acronym ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), is an electronic control system that adjusts the speed of the vehicle while automatically maintaining a safe distance (selectable on four levels) from the vehicles in front. This makes it possible to ride at a constant speed on a motorway, for example, without twisting the throttle.
AUTOMATIC LOWERING DEVICE: System that automatically adjusts the preload of the monoshock to change the height of the bike. At low speeds (ed. below 10 km/h) the preload is instantly raised to the minimum to make it easier for the rider to touch the ground. When speed increases (ed. above 50 km/h) the preload is returned to the preset value, returning the bike to the optimum set-up for the riding dynamics. The function can be disabled by the user.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION (BSD): The BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system signals vehicles that are in the blind spot of vision via the LEDs positioned on the rear-view mirrors, illuminating the one positioned on the side where it detects the presence of a vehicle. The BSD also signals the approaching from behind of vehicles at high speed.
DUCATI BRAKE LIGHT EVO (DBL): System that flashes taillight and 4 arrows to signal hard braking to following vehicles.
DUCATI CORNERING LIGHT (DCL): LED lights that turn on in the direction of the road, according to a defined lean angle when the bike is facing a curve, allowing the rider to better see the road
DUCATI QUICK SHIFTER (DQS): Electronic system derived from racing that allows you to change gears without using the clutch and without closing the throttle when shifting to a higher gear.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL): These are the daytime running lights that are used to comply with the obligation to use dipped headlights during the day.
DUCATI TRACTION CONTROL (DTC): Traction control is a system that prevents (or limits) spin of the rear wheel under acceleration. Gently manages engine clearance recovery, modulating the torque delivered and avoiding the peak that can occur when clearance recovery is complete, so as to make it even easier and more predictable. acceleration out of corners.
DUCATI WHEELIE CONTROL (DWC): System that controls the wheelie and allows you to achieve maximum acceleration performance with ease and safety.
ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL (EBC): The EBC helps riders to optimize the stability of the bike in extreme cornering conditions, balancing the forces to which the rear tire is subjected in conditions of intensive application of the engine brake.
EXTENDED CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (ECD): Shutting off the rear cylinders at idle when the bike is stationary, and the deactivation strategy extends to the entire rear bank even at low speeds, when the engine speed and torque demand from the accelerator are low.
EASY LIFT: System that, when key ON, opens the suspension hydraulics to speed up static lowering of the vehicle when straightening from a prone position. This reduces the effort required to lift the bike off the side stand.
ÖHLINS SMART EC AND BUMP DETECTION: Semi-active Ohlins suspension, mounted on the sportiest models in the Ducati range starting from the 1299 Panigale, based on the Öhlins Smart EC system. Bump Detection is the system that transfers the information collected by the fork after overcoming an obstacle to prepare the monoshock to overcome the same event with a dedicated calibration.
RIDE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM: Also known as electronic accelerator, it is a system that electronically manages the opening and closing of the throttle (s).
VEHICLE HOLD CONTROL (VHC): Allows easier uphill starts even with a passenger and fully loaded bike. When the brake lever is pulled firmly, the system holds the vehicle stationary by activating the rear brake for several seconds until further acceleration or braking takes place. Easy to use, it ensures optimal bike control and maximum safety.

Electronics

FRONT AND REAR RADAR SYSTEM WITH NEW FORWARD COLLISION WARNING: The Multistrada V4 was the world’s first bike to integrate both front and rear radar, activating advanced rider assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Detection. Adaptive Cruise Control automatically maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front, while Forward Collision Warning warns the rider in case of a sudden approach. Blind Spot Detection helps to identity vehicles coming from behind, further improving safety.
6.5” DASHBOARD WITH EXCEPTIONAL VISIBILIT: The Multistrada V4 comes complete with a 6.5” TFT dashboard designed to offer excellent readability in all conditions thanks to optical bonding technology. The graphics are complete and provide the rider with all the necessary information. The system features integrated navigation with the Sygic GPS app, implemented thanks to a phone’s mirroring function, which also allows the rider to manage calls, view their contact list, or listen to music via the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).
DUCATI CONNECT: The system maintains its map navigation functions by way of the Ducati Connect app, which also supports use of a phone to manage calls and listen to music, all via an intercom-equipped helmet.
JOYSTICK CONTROL: Management is via a joystick positioned on the left block, for quick and simple menu navigation. There are dedicated buttons with which to switch Riding Mode and adjust the suspension, while Adaptive Cruise Control is managed using the classic button and + and – keys, which serve to increase or reduce the distance a rider wants to maintain from the vehicle ahead while travelling.
SPORT RIDING MODE: The best for road-going performance. In this mode, the new Multistrada V4 MY2025 delivers the full 170 hp with a direct, spirited response, managed with a sports suspension set-up. Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control invention are reduced to a minimum and the ABS, set to level 2, allows for controlled lifting of the rear wheel in order to maximize braking performance, while retaining the Cornering function. The ideal choice for expert riders who want to fully exploit the motorcycle’s potential.
TOURING RIDING MODE: In Touring Riding Mode, the Ducati Multistrada V4 unleashes its full 170 hp but delivery is smoother and more progressive. Higher DTC and DWC intervention levels make for better vehicle control. The ABS is set to level 3, the safest and most prudential thanks to rear-wheel lift detection, Cornering ABS functionality, and an optimized front/rear combined braking effect. The suspension setting is designed for long-range travel, ensuring maximum rider and passenger comfort.
URBAN RIDING MODE: In Urban Riding Mode power output is reduced to a maximum of 115 hp with a particularly gentle and progressive response (Low Engine Mode), while the suspension setting adapts to urban obstacles such as speed bumps, potholes and manhole covers, effectively managing the continuous changes in surface. DTC and DWC are set to high levels, while ABS is set to level 3.
WET RIDING MODE: The new Wet Riding Mode is designed for riding on low grip surfaces and in wet conditions. This mode limits maximum power to 115 hp with a particularly gentle throttle response (Low Power Mode). The predefined level of the electronic controls is set to offer maximum stability and optimum grip.
AUTOMATIC LOWERING DEVICE AND EASY LIFT: The Automatic Lowering Device automatically and swiftly lowers the vehicle when the speed drops below 10 km/h, before returning to the riding setting at speeds above 30mph, for greater safety every time the rider needs to put their feet down. The system allows for a lowering of up to 30 mm, depending on load. The Easy Lift function makes it a lot easier to lift the motorcycle off the center stand.
ELECTRONIC COMBINED BRAKING SYSTEM: The Electronic Combined Braking System (eCBS) on the Multistrada V4 S significantly improves stability and safety. Thanks to its front-to-rear and rear-to-front dual operating logic, the system optimizes combined braking. The front-to-rear logic activates the rear brake when the front brake is activated, improving stability and efficiency during rapid deceleration. The rear-to-front logic supports braking and improves stability through the turns, lowering the bike’s center of gravity and allowing for a tighter line. This makes for more relaxed riding and more efficient braking management.

Engine

MOTOGP TECHNOLOGY: COUNTER-ROTATING CRANKSHAFT: The V4 Granturismo engine of the new Multistrada V4 MY2025 is equipped with a counter-rotating crankshaft, technology deriving from Ducati’s experience in MotoGP. This innovation acts “against” the gyroscopic inertia of the wheels, improving handling and riding precision.
GEARING TO ENHANCE VERSATILITY: The gear ratios have been very carefully calibrated. First gear is short to facilitate handling at low speed and off-road, while sixth gear is longer to ensure ideal engine speed during motorway travel. This combination ensures smooth and controlled riding, both on challenging terrain and over long range.
EXTENDED DEACTIVATION STRATEGY: To reduce emissions and fuel consumption (the latter by up to 6%* with respect to the previous model), the new Multistrada V4 introduces the rear bank extended deactivation strategy. The two rear cylinders now not only deactivate when the bike is stationary but also when travelling at low speed. As the speed increases, or when the rider wants to fully exploit the power of the engine, the cylinders are reactivated, unleashing all the V4 Granturismo character and performance.
THEOREM #1, 4 IS LIGHTER THAN 2: A V4 engine which is 2.6 lb lighter and more compact compared to the previous V2 Multistrada generation engine. An achievement that guarantees effective and reliable performance.
THEOREM #2, THE POWER IS SMOOTH: Up to 170 hp to achieve slick and smooth-running performance on demand. A smooth engine at low speed, great torque at medium speed and sporting spirit at high speed.
THEOREM #3, BUILT TO TRAVEL FAR: The 36,000 miles valve clearance adjustment interval is an absolute milestone that raises the standard of reliability and reduces maintenance costs.
THEOREM #4, THE FUTURE SOUNDS FAMILIAR: Signature twin-pulse firing order and MotoGP derived counter-rotating crankshaft make the new V4 Granturismo engine more Ducati than ever.

Features

EASIER TO HANDLE WHEN STATIONARY AND DURING LOW-SPEED MANEUVERS.: The Automatic Lowering Device is activated at speeds less than 6 mph, lowering the motorcycle to facilitate stopping and make low-speed maneuvers simpler and safer. Above 30 mph, the Multistrada V4 automatically returns to the riding setting. The system can be deactivated by the rider for more customized control.
EVER SAFER, WORRY-FREE RIDING.: The new 2025 Multistrada V4 is equipped with an advanced front and rear radar system, which supports Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), to ensure less fatigue over long distances, and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), which informs vehicles in the rear-view mirror blind spots. In addition, the optional rear fog light improves visibility for vehicles following behind, elevating safety and technology standards. The 2025 model also introduces the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) function, warning the rider of potential collisions with the vehicle ahead.
EXTENDED DEACTIVATION OF THE REAR BANK: OPTIMIZED EFFICIENCY, REDUCED COSTS.: The rear bank extended deactivation strategy optimizes consumption more effectively than ever before. While previous models deactivated the rear cylinder bank only when the bike was stationary, the system now intervenes on the move, reducing the number of active cylinders when power demand is low, during long journeys on the motorway for example. This innovation reduces emissions and fuel consumption, ensuring smoother riding and reduced costs.
IMPROVED RIDING PRECISION, EVEN UNDER FULL LOAD.: The aluminum monocoque frame is lightweight and compact, offering a solid base for precise and responsive riding. Thanks to the repositioning of the aluminum double-arm swingarm pivot, now 1 millimeter higher, the anti-squat effect has been enhanced, improving precision in trajectory, especially during sporty riding and under full load. The new forged rim, available in selected trims or as an accessory, is 4 lb. (2 kg)lighter than the spindle and improves handling by facilitating direction changes. Its lower rotating mass generates a reduced gyroscopic effect.
AGGRESSIVE FRONT END. TOTAL PROTECTION.: With its accentuated proportions, the new front-end design transmits dynamism and sports attitude while ensuring excellent aerodynamic protection for rider and passenger. The front view accentuates the audacious attitude of the Multistrada V4.
ENDURO RIDING MODE AND NEW WE RIDING MODE: The Enduro Riding Mode has been enhanced with a new dedicated power mode that optimizes power, traction control, and ABS to make off-road riding easier. Suspension settings and the strategies that control them have been designed to promote smooth riding over difficult terrain. The new Wet Riding Mode, on the other hand, is designed for wet terrain.
INCREASED PASSENGER COMFORT: The aluminum side cases and top case supports have been shifted back, giving the passenger more room and greater freedom to move, for increased comfort even over long range.
FRONT-END VIEW AND NEW HEADLIGHT: The new front-end design of the Multistrada V4 optimizes aerodynamic protection, reducing rider and passenger wind exposure to a minimum. The more aggressive lines give the bike a dynamic sporty look. The full LED headlamp with Cornering Light has been updated to eliminate shadowy areas near the front wheel.
REDUCED CONSUMPTION THANKS TO REAR BANK DEACTIVATION: Deactivation of the rear bank significantly reduces fuel consumption by automatically switching off cylinders when full power is not required. This system, now active when on the move, ensures more efficient and sustainable travel.
EVEN MORE INTELLIGENT SUSPENSION: Managed by the DSS EVO system, the semi-active suspension on the Multistrada V4 adapts in real time to the road conditions and riding style. Offering predictive functionality and the ability to identify speed bumps and potholes, maximum comfort, and stability are guaranteed.
REPOSITIONED DOUBLE-SIDED SWINGARM FOR HEIGHTENED ANTI-SQUAT EFFECT: The swingarm pivot is positioned 1 mm higher. This modification heightens the suspension’s anti-squat effect, improving riding stability and precision for a bike that is less likely to squat, even at full load.

ALUMINUM DOUBLE-SIDED SWINGARM: For stable sports riding even at full load, the new aluminum double-sided swingarm is mounted on a pivot that is positioned 1 millimeter higher. This boosts the anti-squat effect, helping to hold the line.
REAR SHOCK: The rear shock on the new Multistrada V4 MY2025 has been optimized with an 8 mm increase in preload, extending the adjustment range from 12 to 20 mm. This improvement allows for more balanced calibration under different load conditions, optimizing the suspension response both with a passenger and luggage and in normal riding conditions. This increase in preload significantly improves stability and precision, while heightening the effect of the Automatic Lowering Device for a comfortable and safe ride, even at full load.
CHOICE OF THREE WHEELS: The 19’’ front wheel and 17’’ rear wheel can be either cast, spoked or, for the first time, forged, for a 4.4 lb weight saving with respect to the cast type. The lower rotating mass of the rim, generates a reduction in the gyroscopic effect, thus increasing handling by facilitating changes of direction.
SUSPENSION MODES INDEPENDENT OF RIDING MODES: The new Suspension Modes can be adjusted while riding via a dedicated button, independently of the selected Riding Mode. This function allows the rider to customize suspension behavior based on the riding conditions and personal preference, for greater flexibility and control while riding. With this option, the bike setting can be rapidly adapted to ensure the ideal response in every situation.
DSS EVO SYSTEM: The DSS EVO system further improves on the semi-active suspension with a fork-mounted sensor that supplies precise data in real time. This technology allows for predictive adjustment of the rear suspension, ensuring that the motorcycle responds in a smooth and stable way to variations in terrain and riding style. In this way, the DSS EVO optimizes vehicle performance, for outstanding control and comfortable riding.
IMPROVED SOUND QUALITY: The new exhaust has been redesigned to create a sound that combines the sportiness of Ducati's DNA and the acoustic comfort derived from lowering the frequencies that could be fatiguing on long rides.
REAR BRAKING SYSTEM: The rear brake disc increases from 265 to 280 compared to the previous generation. The regressive rear lever has a new foot pedal that provides more grip and generates a better feeling of efficiency: greater braking force and increased mouldability. Braking is improved not only mechanically, but also electronically: the Front to Rear system already present among Ducati features, evolves by distributing braking according to the load on the bike. Also introduced is the new Rear to Front system: in particular situations of lean angle and Riding Mode, when braking at the rear, the system will also intervene on the front brake.
REDUCED VIBRATION FOR LESS TIRING TRAVEL: All frame elements and engine components are optimized to reduce vibration and afford rider and passenger the most comfortable ride possible. Climbing aboard the Multistrada V4 means being enveloped by a “bubble of comfort”, inside which you can ride without background noise even at high speeds. Minimal vibration reduces riding stress, particularly over long distances, as does reduced engine gear noise.
ERGONOMICS FOR COMFORT: The seat, seat shape, and legroom are designed to make any rider comfortable while improving the passenger experience. Both the rider and passenger seat are adjustable according to two positions. No two motorcyclists are the same, which is why it is important to ensure every Multistrada rider is at ease on any type of road.
RIDING POSITION: The compact engine leaves more room to mount a seat that can be quickly adjusted to suit every requirement. The narrow center section allows riders of all heights to touch the ground, a versatility that is heightened with two-position seat adjustment. The seat is seamless to minimize any pressure zones, for a less tiring ride particularly over long distance.
