The 2026 Kawasaki KLR®650 S continues the legacy of the legendary dual-purpose motorcycle, specifically engineered to offer a more accessible and confidence-inspiring ride for shorter riders without sacrificing rugged durability or off-road capability. Designed to go on- and off-road, the 2026 model combines reliability and long-distance touring comfort in an approachable, street-friendly package. At the heart of the motorcycle is a 652cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine equipped with DFI® (Digital Fuel Injection) and a 40 mm throttle body. It produces a flat power curve with a maximum output of 40 horsepower and 39.1 lb-ft of torque, allowing for effortless cruising and trail navigation. The fuel capacity is 6.1 gallons, giving you excellent touring range. Built on a robust double-cradle, high-tensile steel frame, the S model features a seat height of 32.1 inches (compared to the standard 34.3 inches) to accommodate a wider range of riders, a ground clearance of 8.3 inches, and a curb weight of roughly 456 to 487 pounds, depending on the ABS configuration. Ride comfort and control are supported by a 41mm telescopic fork up front and an adjustable Uni-Trak® rear suspension, while front and rear disc brakes provide consistent stopping performance on varied surfaces. Comfort and convenience have been optimized through frame rigidity, under-the-seat rubber dampers, rubber-mounted handlebars, and footpegs designed to reduce vibration on long-distance journeys. The all-digital multi-function instrumentation keeps you updated on your ride at a glance. Additionally, the S model comes standard with the signature suspension and ergonomic updates that provide a lowered, highly composed riding character.
