V4 Granturismo Engine: the undisputed protagonist

The V4 Granturismo engine takes center stage on our muscle bike and allows it to express its personality to the fullest. Ducati's four-cylinder engine guarantees high performance, combined with smoothness and regularity, at every rpm.

• Power, smoothness and lightness — Powerful, with high torque at all rpm (peak 93 lb ft at 7,500 rpm), but also extremely light and compact, the 168hp V4 Granturismo derived from the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 Desmosedici Stradale is at the same time smooth, regular and responsive from the lowest rpm.


• An exciting and unmistakable sound — The extended deactivation system for the rear cylinders allows the engine to run as a two-cylinder or four-cylinder unit, producing a change in the tone of the exhaust sound when switching from one mode to the other. The V4 Granturismo has a deeper sound with lower frequencies when only the two front cylinders are active. The frequencies become higher when all four cylinders are operating. Unmistakable Ducati sound.


• Designed to go far — The record valve adjustment check interval at 37,000 miles and the scheduled oil change every 9,000 or 2 years mean only one thing: more time to drive and enjoy the ride.


• The extended deactivation system for the rear cylinders — The development of the V4 Granturismo also took into consideration fuel consumption and comfort: the extended deactivation system of the rear bank acts both during stops with the engine running, to reduce consumption and improve the thermal comfort of the rider and passenger.


• Service interval at 37,000 miles — For the V4 Granturismo, the main service interval for the valve clearance check is 37,000 miles, a record that raises the standard of reliability and reduces maintenance costs.

State-of-the-art electronic equipment

The latest generation electronic package of the Diavel V4 is based on the use of a 6-axis inertial platform (6D IMU - Inertial Measurement Unit) capable of instantly detecting the roll, yaw and pitch angle of the motorcycle. The electronics package includes:

The technically refined Diavel V4 chassis is centered on a lightweight aluminum monocoque frame attached to the cylinder heads, a single-sided swingarm cast in the same material, and steel trellis rear frame.

• V4 Granturismo ENGINE — In the Diavel philosophy, the engine is the fulcrum around which everything revolves: performance, character and style. That's why Ducati designers started with the V4 Granturismo, making it the star of all design elements, with the mechanics prominently displayed as a distinctive feature.


• Sporty and muscular design — With a steel fuel tank with an muscled, sculptural shape reminiscent of Ducati supersport bikes, the tail is light, slender and sharp. The air intakes are a breaking element in the side view, communicating all the muscular power.


• The unmistakable Diavel signature — The rear light cluster consists of a matrix of punctiform LEDs positioned under the tail, also with an unmistakably Diavel optical signature: a unique, unprecedented and spectacular solution that makes the bike instantly recognizable.


• Passenger folding footrests — To maintain maximum cleanliness in the single-seater configuration but at the same time offer the possibility of accommodating a passenger, the folding footpegs return and the retractable rear handle remains, two solutions capable of perfectly synthesizing style and practicality.


• Exhaust — The exhaust returns to prominence in the side view and ends with a four-outlet muffler that immediately tells of the 4-cylinder architecture of the V4 Granturismo engine.


• Tires and rims — Five-spoke wheels featuring an exclusive design with machined surfaces. At the front, the wheel rim is 3.5” x 17”, while at the rear there is an 8.0” x 17” rim. A 120/70 ZR17 tire is mounted on the front rim, while the rear tire is 240/45 ZR17. The tyres are Pirelli Diablo Rosso III.
